For any business student using SABRE, you understand the importance of market research in launching the product, identifying the target segment or to start any R&D ! For others who didn’t use SABRE before , it is a simulation tool. It is used in many marketing courses in business schools – the student version and by various organizations for market research, analyze the product perceptions and essentially by marketing teams

Coming back to the previous post, MAC used market research to understand the demand for a products that were discontinued. How did MAC come to know of this? Using the most powerful social media! Facebook campaign helped them conduct the consumer research which helped them understand the market demands, existing gaps and opportunities to tap into. It isn’t that simple though because it does involve a lot of pre and post research on demographics , using consumer psychology, aligning it with the target market .

It is interesting however to see that we are actively involved in a lot of market research campaigns day-to-day and our voice is quite vital to various products being rolled out and discontinued!
